Breda lands another big fish
Other companies – the potential customers – can test these inventions and experiment with them.
The 6,000 m2 centre will also be a partner in secondary and higher vocational education and a venue for congresses. According to alderman Mrs Aarts, LogiXperience is “a top institute which will be able to play a key role between business and science”.
LogiXperience is the first customer for a business campus west of Breda. It is due to arise around the actual top institute. With the meeting at the Breda Castle the municipality wanted to show companies how far the plans around the institute have made progress. Breda pilfered it right under the noses of Amsterdam and Rotterdam last April.
Judging from what was said by professor Jo van Nunen (Rotterdam) and professor Jan Fransoo (Eindhoven), progress is just fine. Mr van Nunen and Mr Fransoo are the architects of the institute and have largely finished its organisation on paper. Mr Fransoo promised that the institute will be attracting top scientists of Dutch and foreign universities. It is to give Breda a European key role in research and training (post-academic courses for logistic managers) in the field of transport and related organisation..
According to Mrs Aarts, the institute already has a tremendous aura. In fact, TNL branch organisation is considering moving its office to Breda.
